What home-service leads actually pay
Keyword tools tell you how many people search for a service in a city. They can’t tell you whether a lead from that city is worth $12 or $120, or whether anyone buys leads there at all. That’s what this data is for.
Lead payouts by niche
Ranked by median payout, the middle ZIP code rather than the best one. Headline maximums usually exist in a handful of ZIPs; the median is what a typical market in that niche is worth.

Cost per lead vs pay per call
The network buys on two different models. Mixing them up will wreck your maths, so this tool never treats them as the same thing.
Cost per lead (CPL)
You’re paid when a submitted lead converts to a booked appointment. Payouts are much higher because many raw leads never get that far.
Pay per call
You’re paid for a qualified inbound phone call that stays connected past a minimum duration. Payouts are lower per event, but a far larger share of traffic qualifies.
A high CPL payout and a modest call payout are not comparable numbers. Judge each against the traffic cost and conversion rate of its own model.
Why payouts vary between ZIP codes
Buyers bid per ZIP based on how badly contractors in that area want work, so the same niche can pay several times more one county over.
But not every niche is priced geographically. Some pay one flat rate everywhere, so there is no high-payout ZIP to hunt for and ranking cities by payout tells you nothing. Your only levers there are search volume and cost per click.
Number of distinct payout values per niche and payout type across all covered ZIP codes, calculated from the current data.
How to use it
By city
Enter any city or ZIP to see every niche bought there, payout ranges, nearby covered markets on a map, and which niches stack on one ZIP.
By niche
Rank every city or state for one niche by payout, market size or coverage. The profit estimator subtracts your ad cost.
By state
See which niches have the deepest coverage in a state, then drill into ZIP codes and payout tiers.
Bundles
Find ZIPs where several niches buy at once, so one site or campaign can monetise more than one service.
Niche explorer
Browse niches by category, see the sub-services within each one, and build keyword lists for any location.
A high payout on its own is not an opportunity. It has to clear your cost of acquisition: a $500 lead in a town nobody searches from is worth less than a $40 lead in a city with real demand. Use these figures as the revenue side of the equation and pair them with keyword volume and competition data before you commit to a market.
Frequently asked questions
About the data. Coverage and payouts reflect the ZIP codes LeadSmart buys leads in and are refreshed every day. Some ZIPs are administrative or PO-box ZIPs with no city record; they show no population. City populations overlap (metro areas), so summed state figures are labelled as sums, not head counts. Data licences.
Fair warning. Payouts are net payouts to the affiliate, before any traffic cost, and change daily. Micro niches and keyword suggestions are generated by rules and are not LeadSmart data. This tool is independent and is not operated by or affiliated with LeadSmart.
