About the Data

Official Census Data You Can Trust Download

Population figures come from the U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (City and Town Population Totals, Vintage 2025), showing resident population estimates for July 1, 2025. These are annual estimates, not 2020 decennial census counts.

1/ Official Source

Data is downloaded directly from census.gov and validated before use. Searches never depend on a third-party API.

2/ Incorporated Places

Includes cities, towns, villages, boroughs and municipalities. Unincorporated communities (CDPs) and New England towns are not part of the Census city estimates.

3/ Always Up to Date

The Census Bureau publishes a new vintage each year, usually in May. The tool checks for updates automatically and switches to new data once it is verified.
